Abbey’s Box
In Abbey’s Box, writer and performer Abbey Glover brings to life the story of Abbey, a quirky young woman who chooses to live in a box to conceal her true self from the world. When she realizes that she will be alone forever if something doesn’t change, Abbey gets out of her box and embarks on a journey to find love. Blending theater, storytelling, comedy, and clown, the show invites audiences to witness what ultimately becomes a heartfelt and humorous quest for self-acceptance and belonging.

Abbey Glover is a San Francisco-based artist whose work explores themes of self-expression and vulnerability with wry insight that “wouldn’t be out of place in either a Greta Gerwig film or a Peanuts comic strip” (The Scotsman). Her debut solo show Abbey's Box premiered at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, earning multiple 4- and 5-star reviews from publications such as The Scotsman and Broadway World, and has touched and tickled (metaphorically, of course) audiences at several sold out shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vermont, Humboldt County, and New York City. Critics call the show “full of charm and a delight to watch”, “playful, poetic, and poignant”, “an empowering hour doused in light-hearted humor”, and it even left two male critics “mesmerized” and “spellbound”.

A vibrant celebration of life's twists, turns, and the radiant possibilities awaiting all of us when we tap into consciousness, love, courage, and personal power.
